I have been practising yoga for most of my life, but began in earnest over ten years ago when work related stress resulted in my neck completely seizing up. Since then, yoga has seen me through different periods of my life, including becoming a mother, and has helped me cope with the stresses and strains of everyday living.
I am fully qualified with a 500 hour British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Level 4 Teacher Training Diploma which I studied through the Yoga Training Centre. This is the highest level of yoga teacher training qualification available in the UK.
In 2017 I studied two additional modules in Pregnancy and Postnatal yoga, training with BWY tutors Judy Cameron, Kathleen Beegan, and Kay Millar. I'm completed a Developmental Baby Massage course which includes elements of Baby Yoga and craniosacral therapy, with Baby Massage pioneer Peter Walker. I also trained Children's Yoga, Mindfulness for Children and Teen Yoga in 2018 with Calm for Kids.
I feel fortunate that every training course I do enhances my knowledge of yoga and increases my amazement at the workings of the human body and what it is capable of. Everything I learn in these specialist courses spills over into each class I teach.
In 2020, like every other yoga teacher, I had to throw myself into online teaching via Zoom, and I also published my first book of children's relaxations which you can buy here.
