I am a certified Children's and Teen Yoga teacher and trained with Calm for Kids in early 2018.
I run Yoga Nuts clubs and classes at local primary and secondary schools, and run regular 'Bring Your Grown Up' yoga classes for children and their grown ups. I also take part in outdoor events and summer holiday camps.
Children's yoga classes are fun, imaginative and playful. We go on adventures and use stories, games, songs, peer massage and rhymes to bring our imagination to life. Children also get the chance to lead parts of the class, suggesting poses for parts of a story, or inventing dances! Teen Yoga classes are more similar to adult classes, but take into account issues about body confidence and anxiety that typifies this age group.
Yoga for children is relaxed and anybody can do it - you don't have to be sporty or bendy, and as long as you're not doing anything unsafe, it's impossible to get it wrong!
